Norfolk's most historic and picturesque village, 15th century CASTLE ACRE, is situated in undulating countryside beside the River Nar and is designated a conservation area with many interesting walks, in particular the historic Roman Road - Peddars Way. The Village attracts many tourists from this country and abroad who enjoy visiting the Priory ruins, 11th century Castle ruins run by English Heritage, and medieval Church. Within Castle Acre there is a large playing field with a skateboard area and adventure park for older children and a fully enclosed playground for small children.
CASTLE ACRE has 2 pubs, post office, tea rooms and shops and is centrally situated for visiting many of Norfolk's attractions for example, Royal Sandringham, Houghton Hall, and Holkham Hall, the seven Burnhams with Burnham Market at the centre, the city of Norwich and Regional Town of Kings Lynn, both steeped in history with plenty of places to explore.
Soft sands and dunes can be found at the North Norfolk beaches of Old Hunstanton, whereas Heacham beach is a haven for water sports. Burnham Overy Staithe and Wells-next-the-sea are a must for sailors and there are a number of golf clubs, arts and crafts centres, antique shops, restaurants etc. throughout West Norfolk.

Rose Cottage is situated in a quiet lane and is an extremely comfortable, attractive and well equipped 18th century, traditional Norfolk cottage built with flints from the Priory ruins. It has been modernised and decorated to a very high standard but still retains some of its original internal features. Heating is by log burner/radiators and night storage heaters.
The Cottage is deceptively large. From the porch you enter a cosy lounge with cast iron log burner, comfortable and spacious 3-piece suite, colour TV/video. Telephone and occasional furniture. Adjacent to this is a roomy and modern fully equipped kitchen/diner complete with table and chairs, full sized cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine.
Upstairs is a bright and spacious double bedroom and another twin-bedded room both tastefully decorated and complete with a range of wardrobes, dressing table, occasional furniture, duvets and pillows. The bathroom which is fitted with a white suite and shower.

Leading from the kitchen, the private fully enclosed garden with its abundance of roses and honeysuckle enjoys sun for most of the day, and is equipped with a family sized picnic table.
