Common House
| Set in a quiet, attractive, rural location, one mile from the
sandy beaches of North Norfolk and close to the market town of North Walsham,
this cosy, well appointed, 200 year old, flint and brick cottage is a very
pretty conversion of the gig house and Gigman's beamed accommodation for the
nearby farmhouse. This, owner managed, property is well screened by trees
forming a secluded haven in undiscovered Norfolk. Double doors from the dining
room open onto the sunny patio, which overlooks the large private fenced
paddock for the sole use of the cottage, where there is an abundance of
wildlife.
It is an excellent base for, a seaside holiday or for the many other attractions of the area, visiting the Royal House at Sandringham, the many National Trust properties, the open gardens (The Old Vicarage East Ruston) or the many historic churches (Norfolk is a county of 1000 churches). The ancient two cathedral city of Norwich is only half an hour away with its fine museums and art galleries. For a more active break there is excellent Golf, Sailing on the Broads, Walking, Fishing, Cycling and of course the outstanding opportunities for bird watching and wildlife interests. The nearest shops are only one mile away, which include take-away food and restaurants. There is also a friendly pub only ten minutes walk, with others a short drive away providing a good variety of eating. |
